Fishing Wars Boats and PvP
Arm the hull, pick your fights, and get the legendary home.
Steak’s pitch for Fishing Wars was blunt: nobody had made a Roblox fishing game whose identity was fighting each other on boats. The leaks show speedboats, turret attachments, and a drive-by on anyone carrying a fish you want. Official art doubles down with orange fan-hovercraft and wooden decks both mounting grey guns over a Kraken. This page is how not to donate your hold.

Why PvP exists
Fishing games usually fail when the only verb is wait. Fishing Wars adds a second verb: delete the other boat’s trip. You are not (per Steak) playing a steal-a-pet tycoon. You are playing naval robbery. If someone has a legendary on the water, a turret is a legitimate answer.
That also means you are content. A full boat on a mythical marker is a loot crate with a health bar.
Hull types you will see
Launch media shows at least two silhouettes:
- Orange hovercraft with a rear fan and a forward gun — fast, loud, easy to spot.
- Wooden boats with deck-mounted machine guns — slower postcard pirates.
Stats that matter are still the leak trio: speed, health, attachments. Attachments start with a turret. More are promised; do not wait for a secret railgun before you buy the first gun.
Rank hulls on the boat tier list once you have sat in more than one. Until then, upgrade the boat you have instead of sitting on the dock dreaming about a shop row that may still be filling out after launch.
Turrets and deck guns
The leak turret is a bolt-on: drive up, shoot, contest the fish. Official thumbnails also show first-person guns with ammo belts, so expect some fights to feel like a shooter on a deck, not only a vehicle hardpoint.
Use rules:
- Mount a turret before you farm deep water. Pirates in the tutorial already demand it.
- Lead moving boats. Hovercraft slide.
- Do not hip-fire next to Joe. The dock is a no-throw zone unless you like instant revenge spawns.
- If you dump someone, loot the idea: they dropped a trip. Finish your own extract instead of emoting.
Speed vs health
Speed wins extracts. Health wins trades. Early upgrade order puts speed first so you can outrun problems you cannot shoot. The moment sharks and players start connecting shots, health is the next slider. A fast paper boat is a funeral with good music.
Never upgrade a cosmetic skin before these two sliders unless you enjoy looking rich in the respawn menu.
How to protect cargo
- Leave markers when another armed boat arrives and you are already full.
- Drive an S-curve if someone is lining a turret. Straight lines are skeet.
- Hug the dock heading as soon as you have a keeper worth dying for. Greed is how speedruns fail.
- Do not type “I GOT LOCH NESS” in chat at 400 studs from home.
- If you are hunted, jettison the plan of one more cast. The tank already wants what you are carrying.
How to hunt cargo
Look for boats sitting still on mythical glows. Still boats are casting. Casting boats are distracted. Distracted boats with fat silhouettes are paying for your aquarium. Burst, then decide if you can finish them before a third player third-parties the both of you. Eight-player servers love third parties.
Do not spawn-camp the dock. It is cheap, it trains the whole server to wait with guns, and Steak is already in a mood about hackers. Play on the water.
Pirates are PvP with extra sails
NPC pirate ships in the leak teach the same muscle: stop fishing, start shooting, or leave. If you cannot beat a pirate, you cannot beat a player. Farm pirates as a DPS check before you take a hovercraft 1v1.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can other players steal fish from my aquarium?
Steak said this is not a stealing tycoon. Fights happen on boats over cargo and space, not as a plot raid.
What boat should I buy first?
Upgrade speed and health on the starter, then add a turret. Compare hulls on the boat tier list after you have sat in more than one.
Are turrets required?
For deep water and contested markers, yes. Tutorial pirates already shoot back.
How many players can fight at once?
Servers cap at 8. Expect third parties whenever two boats start shooting.
