Fishing Wars Review

Fishing Wars launched on Roblox around 31 August 2026 as Fishing Wars [RELEASE] under the BIG GIANT FOOD group. YouTuber Steak (steakwad) spent the summer killing two rumors: that the project was vaporware, and that it was another steal-a-pet tycoon. The live game is what the official blurb promised. FISH. FIGHT. COLLECT. This review is for people deciding whether to favorite the place, not for people who need a dex that does not exist yet.

Play URL: roblox.com/games/106605020123719/Fishing-Wars. Servers cap at eight. Avatars morph to R6. Place last updated 2 September 2026. Early tracking sits around 300k visits and 12.5k favorites, with concurrent players still in the hundreds after the opening spike.

What it is

You spawn on a dock, talk to Fisherman Joe, spawn a boat, and drive to mythical fishing spots. Catches go into a walk-in aquarium. Fish generate idle cash. You step on a collect pad, then spend on aquarium levels and boat speed, health, and guns. Other players can fight you on the water. Pirates and sharks join as you push out. A Kraken is named in the Roblox description and painted across the thumbnails.

That hybrid is the point. Pure fishing sims on Roblox often AFK. Pure boat combat often has nothing to extract. Fishing Wars makes the extract the fight.

What works

The pad. Idle cash from displayed fish is the spine. It gives you a reason to come home instead of yoloing every legendary into a shark. The make money loop is honest: skip the pad and the shop feels cruel.

The map rebuild. June’s facing is gone. Coral under the boat, a volcano on the horizon, mythical markers that actually teach the first trip. The map guide is short because the design is readable, not because it is empty.

Owner presence. Steak streamed bans within days. That is annoying if you wanted a dead tycoon to bot. It is good if you wanted the person who sold you the thumbnail to still be in the server. See Steak and scripts.

Production. Official art (Kraken under hovercraft, sea serpent between wooden boats, first-person deck gun) matches what leaks showed. Music in the demos is loud on purpose. The tank walk-in is a vanity feature that still sells the fantasy.

What does not

No public dex, Trello, or code list. Launch-week players are guessing rarity from silhouettes. We refuse to invent names. The fish tier list is bands and confirmed threats, not a fake encyclopedia.

Eight-player chaos. A legendary extract on a public server is a social event. If you wanted a cozy single-player aquarium, the other seven people are the product. Boat PvP is mandatory reading, not optional flavor.

Information lives on YouTube. Patch notes are stream titles and Discord pings. This wiki writes them down; it does not replace Discord.

Codes are a rumor. Star Code STEAK supports the creator on Robux checkout. It does not fill the pad. The codes hub stays empty until a toast is real.

Who should play

Play if you like fishing games that punish greed, small-server PvP, and watching a tank fill. Play if you already watch Steak and want the thing he actually shipped. Skip if you wanted Fisch’s atlas, a steal-a-brainrot base raid, or a private-server sandbox with no pirates.

Start with getting started and how to play. Spend with upgrade order. Do not take the starter hull to the Kraken because a thumbnail looked like a tutorial.

Verdict

First week: the loop is real, the owner is awake, the map is the rebuilt one, and the Kraken is in the copy for a reason. The missing atlas and missing codes are launch-week gaps, not hidden depth. Favorite it if the hybrid sentence (fish, fight, collect) sounds like a Saturday. Leave it if you needed a spreadsheet before the first cast.
